Blissfully Normal

Almost everyday I get a variation of the question “what’s new with you?”

And it feels weird to say this, but I usually don’t know how to respond. My life is blissfully normal right now, I literally don’t have much going on!

I work, I run, I cook, I hang out, I go out, I happy hour… (I make up verbs…)

and then repeat!

I was thinking about it and it’s really astounding to think of the contrast between my life this year and last year.

I mean, this time last year I was in a whirlwind of craziness. At any point last year my responses would have been plentiful to those questions. This time last year, I was…

Graduating college

Working two internships

Moving into my downtown apartment

Going to Iran

Going on job interviews

Getting a job

This time last year, my life was in a flux. But I loved it.

And now I am loving how everything has come into place. It’s nice to take a step back and see how things formed and shaped over the course of the year.

My life is now blissfully normal, which is perfect.

Have you ever noticed this contrast in your life?

Sweat Pink: Re-discovering my inner athlete

My first blog post is up on the Sweat Pink Ambassador’s blog! I was asked my Fit Approach to write about my fitness/health “Aha Moment.”

My moment came last Summer because of my two co-workers Amy and Bridget. I am so lucky to work with these wonderful ladies who continue to inspire me everyday!

Go read Re-discovering my inner athlete and let me know what you think!

(expect my Quarter Marathon race recap soon!!)

It’s official! I’m a real person with a real job!

Today is my first day of real, official, salaried job! Six months after graduation and I can proudly say that I am a real-life college graduate with a job! I am an intern success story…

First off, I don’t think I could have felt more loved or supported from my little excited FB update. 64 likes, 11 comments?! Thanks for the support people!

First Day of Work!

My mom always took a photo of us G-E kids for every first day of school. And I thought my first official day of work shouldn’t be any different! Lame, but you have to continue the 20+ year tradition…

My job as Staff Writer for the University of Portland Marketing & Communication department mirrors my internship as Media Relations Assistant. I loved my internship and I just know that I am going to love my job. I really wanted to be able to write and in turn tell people’s stories.

And I get to do exactly that!

I will be continuing my work with media relations writing features and press releases while also working with marketing to promote the university’s RISE Campaign through stories, features, and releases.

I work with a wonderful group of people (hey Amy & Bridget!) and I am looking forward to the upcoming year of being a full-time employee of the University of Portland! Waldschmidt Hall is a pretty awesome place to work if I do say so myself.

I’m officially an adult!

Now I must deal with understanding my benefits… Health insurance, life insurance, retirement plan OH MY!
